An Inner Space Journey.
An Inner Space Journey is the combination of Yoga Nidra Meditation and a Gong Bath . Never heard of Yoga Nidra Meditation? Not sure what a Gong Bath is? That’s not surprising, few people have experienced one or the other and fewer still have experienced both at the same time.
Yoga Nidra Meditation is an exploration of inner space; the mind is active and exploring while the physical body is completely relaxed and still. The inner work is guided, taking the practitioner to a state between waking and sleeping, between dreaming and lucidity.
A Gong Bath is a form of sound therapy that supports deep meditation, self-healing, deep rest, and the release of tension, stress, and strain.
Together, Yoga Nidra and the Gongs create a unique environment for inner work and rejuvenation of the body, mind, and spirit! This Inner Space Journey is the perfect experience for people who “can’t” meditate. The Yoga Nidra narrative guides you to the depths of your consciousness as the gongs provide a rising and falling curtain of sound that wraps you in an acoustic wave-front that acts on every cell in your body.
For the experienced mediator, Yoga Nidra Meditation provides access to the hypnagogic state, that brain state between waking and sleeping, that time when the brain waves are transitioning from active to quiet wakefulness to deep meditation. And there, on the edge of sleep, the Yoga Nidra practitioner’s conscious and subconscious minds synchronize and freely communicate.
This Inner Space Journey begins with light movement to calm the body, then participants lay down, flat on their backs supported with blankets and pillows. (It may be done seated, but complete physical relaxation is important to the experience.) Once settled and comfortable, the Yoga Nidra guidance and the Gong bath begin. The experience runs for 50-60 minutes.
The Gong Journey Sounds are produced by a 40" King Gong from Italy, a 30” Paiste Symphonic Gong from Germany, a 26" Chinese Chau Gong and a 21"Wind Gong, Tibetan Singing Bowls, Koshi Bells, chimes, shakers and drums played by Gong Journeyman Osten Aune of Gong Journeys.

Please bring blankets and pillows, dress warmly in layers. This meditation is done while lying on blankets, supported by pillows and bolsters. Please bring anything you think will make you comfortable, sleeping bags, yoga mats, and bolsters. Limited yoga mats may be available.
